Gas entering the flow body is divided at a constant ratio by a laminar flow bypass. Gas molecules traveling through the sensor carry heat downstream creating a differential temperature between the RTDs. The difference in temperature between the RTDs is proportional to the mass flow rate.
Fathoms electronics compare the gas flow rate to a command setpoint (local or remote), then applies the necessary coil voltage magnetically raising or lowering the actuator above the orifice to obtain the desired flow rate.
